Once upon a time, there was an evil witch named Theolonia Sylvamaria Ravenhildur. But she was known far and wide as TSR. She was a hungry witch, who wanted to rule the Writing Community. She wanted her subjects to be miserable, and unable to find stories that entertained them.
One day she gazed into her crystal ball, and demanded to know why the people were happy, for she had heard that they were enjoying the stories created by the Writing Community, and it angered her.
And then she saw why. Creativity had been at work again, creating pieces for the enjoyment of all. TSR was furious. How dare she? She would have to be stopped.
TSR sent out notices to all the land. She promised a place where storytellers could tell their beautiful stories to a captivated audience - a safe haven where Writers would be free to express themselves as they pleased. Creativity believed the witch. With her beautiful face, sparkling dress, and kind words, TSR was surely someone to be trusted.
But it was a trap. Now with Creativity behind bars, the Writing Community would surely suffer. No longer would stories interest their readers and keep them happy.
And there was much rejoicing.
The Writing Community took a hit, and its remaining members developed plans to still make a readable product. It would be difficult without Creativity, but they would try their best.
A few days later, TSR read in the paper that there was enjoyment in the current stories.
Readers were expressing their joy at how much Freedom the Writing Community had when telling their tales. This, of course, would not be tolerated. She made the same promises to Freedom that she did to Creativity. And Freedom was captured.
Now, with the two safely tucked away, surely the Writing Community would not recover.
And there was much rejoicing.
The remaining three were unsure of what to do. They discussed it for many hours, and finally came up with a solution to make their readers happy. They would use their talents to the best of their ability, hoping people would still take the time to read.
A few days later, TSR was performing a tarot reading, hoping to catch the suffering of the Community at last. But what she saw enraged her. The Writing Community had bounced back.
Readers everywhere were marvelled at how much Intelligence their stories contained. They were saddened a bit about the lack of Creativity and Freedom of the stories, but they were still happy. The evil witch was beside herself. This had to be stopped.
With the same diabolical plan she had used to capture the others, soon Intelligence was imprisoned with the rest. Stories would become unintelligible, and the Writing Community would crumble.
And there was much rejoicing.
The two that were left discussed this blow for hours on end, and decided the only thing to do was to move forward, and continue to tell stories as well as they could.
Ecstatic, the witch checked her mail, hoping for a report about the widespread suffering. But alas, she was notified that the readers were still happy. How can this be, she wondered? With no Creativity, Freedom, and Intelligence left in the Writing Community, how could readers still enjoy the stories?
The answer was simple. The stories still had Individuality. She still enabled the stories told to be different from one another, so they each had their own flavor, their own voice. And, naturally, TSR would certainly not let this continue.
So she captured her, as well. Finally! She had succeeded! Stories would now be lifeless, readers would be saddened, and the Writing Community would be no more.
And there was much rejoicing. Boredom and Monotony looked on with interest.
Fun was all alone. His friends had all been captured. The Writing Community was suffering greatly, for the stories that were being churned out had no Creativity, Freedom, Intelligence, or Individuality. This was a harsh blow, indeed. Fun decided the best thing he could do, was to put as much of himself into his stories as possible. His friends would have wanted that.
The witch was elated. Believing that decent stories were now impossible, she consulted her magic mirror, so she could watch the suffering.

No! It cannot be! How could anything be left? How could stories still be any good? Fun in stories? It had to be stopped!
There! They were all behind bars now. No more Writing Community!
"Why is she doing this," Individuality asked angrily. The henchman yawned loudly as a response.
"Hey," Freedom piped up, "aren't you Boredom?"
"No, I'm Monotony."
"Isn't that the same thing?" they all wondered aloud.
"Now I've got you all! This is the end of the Writing Community! Without you, stories will be boring and monotonous!"
"Boredom and Monotony will multiply, and take over. The readers will be sad, but after awhile they won't even remember you any more. The stories will all look the same! They will no longer remember what good stories were made of, and I will rule all!"
"You have all done well, my clones. Now that we've destroyed the Writing Community by taking away everything that made stories worth reading, it's time for the second phase of my plan. Now we will raise our prices, drastically for some, little for others, and see which of our members are devoted enough to go hungry to still be a member. We'll lower the quality of our downloads, and our drones, our members, will still seek us out, because we are all powerful and rule all!"
And there was much, much rejoicing.

But help was on its way. For at that very moment, Team SimTales had just arrived. They were not happy about the serious blows the Writing Community had taken, and they resolved to fight back with all they had. And they looked mighty spiffy in their custom matching t-shirts, too.
"What's your deal, lady?" Damon asked through gritted teeth.
Suddenly, Damon burst out in laughter, for the fright of TSR and her minions was a hilarious sight.
"We have come to save the Writing Community!" Leah, the head of the team, declared proudly.
"For Creativity!" Sam shouted.
"For Freedom!" Gracia yelled.
"For Individuality!" Ariana screamed.
"For Fun!" Zayury swooned.
"Can we stay focused here?" Damon scolded.
"Vive la Resistance!"
"Woof!" barked Grudge. Translation: "This bitch is going down!"
A mighty battle ensued. The team bravely fought the forces of Boredom and Monotony. The battle raged for many grueling hours.

(The Clones aren't too bright).
The witch watched helplessly as one by one, her minions were destroyed. Finally, she was the only one left. "No!" she wailed. "There must be Tyranny! There must be Injustice! There must be Rejection on no valid grounds!"
Grudge stuck out her tongue at the evil TSR.
The team surrounded her...and TSR was no more. And there was MUCH rejoicing!

Aw! Thanks, Leah! It was a lot of fun. Thanks for your support, all your help, and for reading. I knew of your fondness of Baileys, and when I was trying to figure out where to put everyone at the end, I thought - the bar, of course! I was hoping Gracia, being such a good friend of yours, would sit, chat, and knock a few back with you!
(Sorry for the delay my baby girl came home for the weekend, but she's gone back to the university) :(

After reading what the story is about I thought that definitely many woud love this, is is funnt and creative, but you forgot to release the captive fun, freedom etc... lol, seems they were partying too fast.
I think all groups have inside rules, although TSR went a bit too far, or as I remember, I couldn't feel at peace there after the beheadings started, so I left. Its sad actually that it was not a momentum apparently, I heard that the are reyecting people for the most menial of causes for the sake of political correctness.
I didn't knew it was illegal to profit from custom made content of the sims, well I guess for some reason EA is either oblivious of what TSR is doing or they are deciding to not mess with TSR to not lose a large fanbase. Although, the sims franchise is so extremely popular I am not sure it would really affect them.
Anyway I was attracted by this little story, it was very fast to read and it should be puclished at TSR lol. Nah kidding, anyway thanks for sharing this little piece and hope you one day tell the dark and misadventurous tale of what TSR did to you
Ah, Zayury. I was hoping you would be okay with the way your character behaved, lol. I just felt it was right, and was hoping you would get as big a kick out of it as I did. Fun is a very interesting looking sim. Very unique facial structure. I think he's really cute. Thank you for your great compliments - I had a lot of fun having the SimTales group kick the caca out of TSR and Company. And I'm extremely pleased my fellow group members had as much fun reading it as I did writing it. Oh - you might like to know, I had to have Zayury makeout with Fun several times to get the right angle for shooting. I even took a picture where she looked back at me approvingly when I instructed her to go another round, lol. I'll post that on the forum later.
Pablo - thank you for taking the time to read. And it was just meant to be a fun little piece to give people a laugh, but also draw attention to the deeper workings of TSR. We all started partying too fast, lol, what can I say? We're a group that likes to have a good time.
And I'm fairly certain that submitting this story to TSR would result in immediate banning for all of us involved, lol. That's not to say the thought didn't cross my mind, though. ;)
My dark tale with TSR is nothing compared to many of you guys. I never had a story rejected, and have never had to deal with all the political correctness - or whatever they claim is the reason why they reject so many great stories. I'm just pissed off because it's wrong. They're stifling people and I think that's unjust.
Mythoughts exactly, I left first of all because I was afraid one of my stories might be reyected, and joined Leah when the group was forming because...well, I thought that she didn't deserve what she got, then Sandy came and also Melissa, and well, most of the good things from TSR were here, except for Clarity, one girl who was the or one of the most famous writers of TSR back then, she encouraged me with her comments, in a time where I recieved but very few comments and I was really thinking of quitting. May she be always remembered (nope, not dead, she just got wrapped up in a part time job and had a sick mother it seems and my bet is that eventually she didn't had the time to keep reading and writing at TSR)
So I came to simtales at the risk of losing a bigger audience, but know what, it feels better having very few loyal regulars that you know than the occasional anonymous reader.
So I kind of relate ith you, what TSR did was highly unappropiate and unconsiderate for readers.
I agree that it definitely helps to be among people you know when you're writing - getting the advice and feedback of a small group of people who follow your work and have a feel for how you operate. I'm very happy I asked to join the group, and happy with the people I've met and the feedback I've been getting. And now I'm happy to be roasting TSR alive, lol! >:)
I couldn't possibly add anymore to the awesome comments that were shared already, AF.
As always, you have presented a humorous, well done, creative, fabulous Sims tale. I enjoyed your wonderful, inventive screenshots, too. This one was a hoot & so much fun to read!
The only thing that would've made your story better is if Grudge could've taken a big fat vicious bite out of TSR's ass! LOL
Great job, my friend.
LOL - if only I could've staged that! Thanks for taking the time to read it. It was a fun project and I'm sure TSR would hate it - which makes me love it, lol!
Oh, this was soooooo much fun reading it... LOL a lot ;-) And yeah, Leah and I taking a few whenever we can... This was good to read after a heard day of work!!! GREAT JOB!!!
Aw, thanks, Gracia. I'm glad you liked it. We kicked some serious TSR butt, didn't we, lol?
This was AWESOME!!! You're a genius in the way you managed to portray the evil doings of TSR in this original and fun story.
And I agree with what was said earlier. When I used to post at TSR, more people read my stories, than on my blog. But they were not really reading my stories - they were reading shorter, chopped and censored versions of what I wanted to say.
SimTales has given me that artistic freedom that I was looking for, and it was definetly one of my proudest days when Leah asked me to join the team. I can honestly say that I have found a home for my writing creativity at SimTales.
Very well done!!!!!!
Thanks, Lorianne! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Just a fun little thing, really, but true to a point. I have never suffered the pain of a rejected story, but I've read how it affects people, and that was enough to motivate me to do this piece. Thanks for reading!
